CONNECTING THE REAL TIME EXPRESSION OF THE INTERNET WITH BROADCAST TELEVISION.
We developed a digital platform (mtvbump.com) that allows viewers to create their own video art breaks, or bumps, using their Vines and Instagram videos. A custom renderer and API connects directly to the broadcast queue, readying submissions for air in as little as 2 hours.
This initiative was part of a global rebrand of the channel, evolving the iconic slogan "I want my MTV" into "I am my MTV", focusing the attention back on the viewers as today's key content creators. We collaborated with MTV closely on the strategic positioning of this new platform as well as the technical integration with their broadcast team.
