HULU PRIDE 2021

An IMMERSIVE SCULPTURE GARDEN, FEATURING IMPORTANT LGBTQ+ VOICES.

In 2020, Hulu celebrated Pride on a virtual island in the sky, with performances and discussions from LGBTQ+ talent. We also planted our pride on that island, creating a community garden in real time. For Pride 2021, we brought that garden to the real world, planting our pride for 4 days on the High Line in NYC.

We designed 6 larger than life flower sculptures each framed by an LED lit Hulu vessel, bringing to life their Pride Never Stops campaign for the 3rd year in a row.

Our fabrication partners at Populate made our renders a reality, standing from 5 to 8 feet tall, each flower was made up of custom metal work, welding and hand painted gradients.

We worked with Plan8 to create a custom soundtrack that immersed guests in the installation as they walked along the High Line. Six separate music loops were scored to be able to overlap, changing the vibe slightly as you moved from one flower to the next. Bird sounds and wind chimes that fell in key with our soundtrack blended with the natural water flowing from the fountain on the sundeck, bring our sculpture garden to life.

We worked with the talented folx at Dog Studio to create the campaign website. Guests were encouraged to scan a QR code on site to create their own flower, donating to important charities. For every flower created, Hulu donated $15, for a total of $100k to LGBTQ+ organizations.
